Visual Realizations of Ideas

In deciding which ideas to move forward with, we first narrowed our focus to five design types we brainstormed for last week’s session that we thought were both interesting and feasible within the time constraints of our semester. The designs/design types are:

  • Noodles
  • Snow Globe
  • Space-Ship
  • Googly Eye (Minion, Mike Wazowski, etc.)
  • Character inside a dome (Sandy, Astronaut, etc.)

Next, we took these designs, and fleshed-out a few details surrounding making the parts for these yo-yo’s. We evaluated the designs on number of parts, perceived complexity, group interest, and design novelty based on the LMP yo-yo.

We decided to move forward with the Googly Eye (particularly Minion) and Spaceship designs.
